Welcoming the Syrian Brooklyn Community – A Second Visit to Israel
This week, I had the opportunity to meet with 70 young volunteers from the #SyrianBrooklynCommunity, who are visiting Israel as part of the #TaglitVolunteering Program. This marks their second visit in six months !!!
In addition to their volunteer work, the group also takes part in an exploration day in southern Israel—a region that was significantly affected during the October 7th, 2023 attacks carried out by #Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
Ahead of these site visits, we hold a preparatory #workshop to provide basic background information and context. The goal is to give participants a clearer understanding of the events, the region, and the challenges involved. It's a space for asking questions, learning, and approaching the experience with awareness.
